They Listen is a game of sensory deprivation. It is set in a post apocalyptic world where humanity has been invaded by sightless invisible creatures of unknown origin. These creatures are able to detect you through sound and echolocation.

You play a character who has survived the first wave of the creatures, and is now having to survive alone. After accidentally stumbling and falling onto the crisp autumn leaves, you suddenly get to your feet and run to a nearby house that seems to be abandoned.

After the door being locked behind you, you soon realize that you are not the only one roaming the house. You must find the keys in order to escape.

Use your focus in order to see the invisible creature. Use sparingly!

Do not make a sound, or else...

Use echolocation to detect invisible creatures.

Find 8 keys to unlock the door to escape.

Experience a stealth horror.

Deprived of sensing the creature.

I think I gave your game a fair try. Love the idea of it however I had an issue with my mouse not locking to the game. If it's just a problem with my p.c I'll try the game again because I think it's got a crazy amount of potential. It was just to frustrating with that issue otherwise.

Your game starts at 5:20 I can't wait to see what else you make

Played this as part of a 4 free indie horrors. I give a much more in-depth review near the end. Posting the feedback here to help you grow as a developer and not to attack you in any way. If you only watch the end for the review please watch the entire ending as there are some very important parts that need to be noted. Sorry if i come across as harsh, I'm just giving my personal opinion and critical criticism.

Hey there! This game has some fantastic atmosphere and the mechanics are awesome when they're working properly. I had a couple hiccups in figuring out how the doors worked, the echolocation randomly going on cooldown and sometimes activating without the timer. I'd love to take a second look when everything is a little more consistent! Good start though!

This game gave me a jumpscare or two haha.  I liked the game overall, my full review  is at the end of my video!  =)

We're glad you liked it! Loved the video by the way,  and thanks for the feedback :)
